Recent graduate from Ruth Prowse School of Art in Woodstock, Cape Town, Carla Latsky is firmly set on her goal of establishing herself as a commercial artist in South Africa. Latsky takes her inspiration from "the little things" and attempts to breathe life into the mundane with her illustrations. Latsky's art is aimed at inspiring nostalgia, but also at initiating conversation through her eclectic body of work.
With creative pieces spanning the boundaries of watercolour paints, fineliners, embroidery, printing and typography, Latsky returns to "old school" methods of creativity. Latsky's products include miniature watercolour paintings, embroidered pieces, prints, illustrations and much more. All of her products are painstakingly crafted by hand before being transferred to a print, and each piece is deeply personal.
