Nap time

Posted on January 30th 2012

When too much shopping wears you down, you can always enter Martí Guixé's Figurative Office Siesta Cubicle for a little break.

Spanish retailer Vicon recently commissioned Martí Guixé to create an art installation to fill one of their empty spaces.

Guixé produced the FOSC, or the Figurative Office Siesta Cubicle, which is a large cardboard whale. The idea is that visitors can easily walk into the whale’s mouth to find a quiet and cosy spot to have a rest or take a nap.

Promoting the idea that a siesta is an experience that is more than just a break, the inside of the whale has also been furnished with some of Guixé’s signature pieces, such as the Flama Lamp.
