Alessi's flagship shop in Milan, designed by Martí Guixé, is still home to the "Alessi Encyclopaedia".

After nearly 25 years the flagship Alessi shop in Milan has changed addresses. It can no longer be found at 9 Corso Matteotti, but at 14-16 Via Manzoni.

In this new space Alessi still seeks to display all of what they like to call the "Alessi Encyclopaedia". The entire range of small household items that they have been designing and producing for the past 90 years can be found here.

Unlike the previous shop, at the new location everything is on one floor, with lots of windows. Alberto Alessi approached Martí Guixé to create the setting. Alessi and Guixé have been working together for years and thus Guixé was the ideal partner to design "Alessi's increasingly complex catalogues".

Alberto Alessi says of what was required of Guixé: "A setting that would be refined as befits our role a manufacturer of Italian design, but also relaxed and certainly not dull and self-important."
