I'm going to make this short and sweet. The reason being because I have a soft spot for the Wooster Collective having written about them before. The key to what they do is exactly what their presentation was about. The beauty of art that can't be written about because it needs to be seen.
Instead of telling us what street art is and why it's done, Marc and Sara Schiller took us through, what they call the tip of the iceberg, of street art, giving us a glimpse into the immense creativity that exists in the cities across the world that very few of us see.
Just to get us thinking, the Schiller's asked a few simple questions:
why would an artist risk arrest in order to create?
what happens after the artworks go up?
They didn't answer these questions because every person sees street art differently, each interpretation is different and that is where the beauty of street are lies.

Along with the Schiller's, prolific South African artist Faith47 also joined the conversation on street art and i walked away with an entirely new view on street art… AGAIN! Faith47 explains that for her, street are gives a voice to those that don't have one, the disenfranchised. While there way may some who want to hurt and vandalise property, Faith47 explains that for many, there is a story behind each artwork.
And so I leave you with this:
When you see street art, take the time to stop, look and think about it. There is more to street art than meets the eye.
