Now in its second year, with presenters including Zapiro, Heath Nash and Brendan Bussy, the immensely popular Design Indaba Kids Programme presented by DStv is sure to yet again surprise, delight and inspire.

Design Indaba believes that nurturing and developing the creative spirit everyone is born with is essential for building a lively creative economy. For this reason Design Indaba Expo welcomes our young visitors with this special Kids Programme, which introduces them to the wonderful world, and endless possibilities, of design.

A picture is worth a thousand words, and KIKI are helping disadvantaged kids see the bigger picture.

Life’s special moments should be captured and treasured. The KIKI outreach workshop gives children in disadvantaged communities the opportunity to snap away, while teaching them basic camera and styling techniques.

Let your imagination run free... Create something funky and beautiful for your bedroom.

Make an interesting mobile to hang from the ceiling, a mixed medium canvas or create a striking mosaic artwork for yourself or a friend. Me-time is an activity centre offering creative children’s birthday parties, art and crafts classes, workshops, toddler activity groups, and fun holiday programmes.

R120 per child. For ages 4 to 13.

Draw it like you mean it! With the help of South Africa's very own Zapiro, you can also be a great cartoonist.

What’s your idea of cartooning? Is it comics? Political satire? Animation? Cartooning is as limitless as your imagination. Zapiro and Andy Mason would like to help you get going. Whether you want to be viciously satirical or simply hilarious, you’ll need to start with an idea. In this three-hour workshop they’ll show you how to brainstorm ideas and help you draw and write for cartoons and comics.
