William Drenttel is a graphic designer, publisher and design leader. He works in partnership with Jessica Helfand at Winterhouse, a design consultancy focused on social innovation, online media and educational institutions.

Michael Mack was born in Zimbabwe and moved to England in 1980 where he trained and worked as a lawyer. In 1989 he moved to Paris and then left law to study an arts MA. Now based in London, he is a freelance art director, editor, curator and writer.

David Redhead is creative director of Cultureshock Media, a company specialising in custom publishing, broadcasting and design in the cultural sphere (www.cultureshockmedia.co.uk).

Tyler Brûlé launched Wallpaper* in 1996, which became an instant publishing success. In 1997 Time Warner purchased Wallpaper* and it’s now sold in more than 50 countries. The magazine has won numerous awards for its design, international relevance and use of typography and has become part of the cultural vocabulary.

Born in 1968 in Pretoria, Sean O’Toole is a Cape Town-based journalist and writer. Currently editor of Art South Africa, a quarterly print magazine focusing on contemporary South African and African art, he also writes a weekly column on photography for the Sunday Times and a biweekly art column for the Financial Mail.

Marcus Fairs is the current editor of Dezeen, former editor of Icon magazine and the author of the book Twenty-First Century Design.

Patrick Burgoyne is the editor of Creative Review, the leading monthly magazine for the communication arts. He is also the author of several books on design including the web design series, Browser, Reload and Used.

Martin Raymond edits Viewpoint magazine and is also author of The Tomorrow People: Future Trends and How to Read Them (2003, Financial Times/Pearson Education). He is a regular contributor on trends and business to the BBC, and cofounder of the Future Laboratory.

Kerryn du Preez went from a National Higher Diploma in Journalism at Natal Technikon in 1990 straight into editorial assistant of the Sunday Times newspaper.

Jackie Burger is the editor of Elle magazine in South Africa. She’s been the brand manager at Foschini, associate fashion editor of Fair Lady and acted as a brand consultant for Lever Ponds. Her ability to accurately predict trends and interpret them for consumers has served her well in this regard.
