Born in 1964, Marti Guixé is a Catalonian designer living in Barcelona and Berlin. He graduated in interior design from Elisava in Barcelona in 1985 and studied industrial design at Scuola Polytecnica di Design di Milano in 1986.

Haldane Martin qualified as an industrial designer at the Cape Tech in 1992, also winning the Style Student Award. From these promising beginnings he moved on to work for Richard Sparks Industrial Design consultancy but, just a year later, branched off on his own to develop furniture and homeware designs.

Stefano Giovannoni has excelled as both an industrial and interior designer. At times graciously utilitarian, his plastic designs often exhibit an impish playfulness. His pop-coloured tableware for Alessi is a prize example. Fruit Mama, his deliriously quirky reinterpretation of the fruit bowl, also suggests his avant garde leanings.

Born in Yamanashi Prefecture in 1956, Naoto Fukasawa graduated from Tama Art University in 1980. After having acted as the head of the American company IDEO’s Tokyo office, he established Naoto Fukasawa Design in 2003.

Ross Lovegrove graduated from Manchester Polytechnic with a first-class BA Honours in industrial design in 1980 and in 1983 from the Royal College of Art with a Masters of Design degree. In the early 1980s he worked as a designer for Frog Design in West Germany on projects for Sony and Apple Computers.

Yves Béhar is the founder of fuseproject, an integrated design firm dedicated to the development of the emotional experience of brands through story-telling. The diverse experience and mediums practiced by the fuseproject design teams span products, environments, graphics, packaging, apparel and strategy.

Industrial designer Satyendra Pakhalé describes himself as a “cultural nomad”. Over the years, he has attracted clients from all over the world such as Alessi, Cappellini, Magis, Moroso and Material ConneXion.

Paul Priestman is the founding director of Priestman Goode, an internationally renowned multidisciplinary design studio. Iconic products designed by Priestman Goode have become best-selling design classics, entering the public psyche around the world.

Professor Hartmut Esslinger is founder and co-CEO of frog design inc. He studied industrial design at the College of Design in Germany and received a Doctor honoris causa in Fine Arts from Parson School of Design in New York.

Richard Seymour is one of Europe’s best-known product designers.
