Born in Tokyo in 1972 and raised in Chigasaki, Manabu Mizuno studied graphic design at Tama Art University. After graduating in 1996, he joined the advertising company Pablo Production and then went on to join Draft Corporation where he worked in advertising and design. In 1999 he established “good design company”.

Shigeru Ban (born 1957 in Tokyo) is an accomplished Japanese and international architect, most famous for his innovative work with paper, particularly recycled cardboard paper tubes used to quickly and efficiently house disaster victims.

Dai Fujiwara joined the Miyake Design Studio in 1994 upon graduating from the Dyeing and Weaving Course at Tama Art University. After working as a member of the Issey Miyake Collection design staff, he launched the A-POC project with Issey Miyake in 1998. This won the Good Design Award in 2000 and the Mainichi Design Award in 2003.

Born in Yamanashi Prefecture in 1956, Naoto Fukasawa graduated from Tama Art University in 1980. After having acted as the head of the American company IDEO’s Tokyo office, he established Naoto Fukasawa Design in 2003.

Shubhankar Ray is world renowned for his work as creative director of Camper, where he has worked on the Walking Society concept and the Visual Language System, including a global ad campaign, magazine, film, web and shop systems.

Shigeo Fukuda’s awards include a place in the Hall of Fame from NY ADC in 1987, the gold at the International Poster Biennale Warsaw in 1972, first prize at Moscow International Poster Biennale, the grand prix at the UNESCO International Poster Exhibition in 1985, and the grand prix at Helsin

Kenya Hara’s design work is deeply rooted in Japanese culture, as demonstrated by the programmes he designed for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympic Games.

Born in Tokyo in 1940, Shin Matsunaga completed the design course at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1964. From there, he worked in the advertising division of Shiseido Co, Ltd. In 1971 he founded Shin Matsunaga Design lnc.

Born in Tokyo, 1955, Taku Satoh graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1979, majoring in design. Initially he joined Dentsu, but then established the Taku Satoh Design Office in 1984.

Born in Yokohama in 1943, Shigeru Uchida graduated from Kuwasawa Design School. As a leading Japanese designer, Uchida has engaged in a wide range of design projects including a number of interior works, furniture, products and urban planning in Japan and abroad.
