Li Edelkoort is a trend forecaster, educator, curator and publisher based in Paris. She has fostered design’s creative talent as chairwoman of the Design Academy Eindhoven between 1998 and 2008.

Since graduating from the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Arnhem in 1991 and the Royal College of Art in London in 1995, Ineke Hans’s work has evolved in many ways, acquiring the identity most clearly of a designer, with the impulses of a sculptor and the industrial experience needed to define products with a commercial life.
 

Born in Seoul, Korea, and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, art director and designer, Ji Lee now lives and works in New York.

Crispian Plunkett started off studying at the Art, Ballet, Drama and Music School in Johannesburg. Deciding that he hadn’t quite found his creative niche, he went on to study photography at Durban Institute of Technology and achieved a National Diploma. It was only then that he knew he had found the medium where he could best express his creative impulses.

Together, Andrew Makin and Janina Masojada lead OMM Design Workshop, an architecture practice based in Durban, South Africa. That they are a multiple award-winning team is hardly surprising – the firm defines itself by the quality and relevance of its conceptual design, production and final resolution.

Thebe Ikalafeng is a recognised and award-winning brand builder.

Thando and Vanya Mangaliso are the fashion entrepreneurs behind the Sun Godd’ess label, which started out selling skirts from the boot of their car. Four years later, the business employees 30 people. The garments are designed and produced in Johannesburg.

Born in Tokyo in 1940, Shin Matsunaga completed the design course at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1964. From there, he worked in the advertising division of Shiseido Co, Ltd. In 1971 he founded Shin Matsunaga Design lnc.

Ze Frank is an artist and humourist who is said to be a genius in creating online experiences. His extraordinary talents (showcased on his website) include funny videos, interactive toys, games and various readings. But he’s probably best known for innovating email communications.

Yves Béhar is the founder of fuseproject, an integrated design firm dedicated to the development of the emotional experience of brands through story-telling. The diverse experience and mediums practiced by the fuseproject design teams span products, environments, graphics, packaging, apparel and strategy.
