Although Gerry Human is a 20-year veteran of
the advertising industry, he claims to have the
mind of a 12-year-old and the body of... yes, well.
As Executive Creative Director of Ogilvy Jhb,
one of the country’s largest agencies, Human leads
a talented and diverse team responsible for some
of South Africa’s most prestigious brands.
Over the years he has won some awards, including
16 Cannes Lions, 40 Gold Loeries and, notably,
the Progress Award for Religious Instruction in
standard two (which is likely to have led to his
election as Chairman of the SA industry body,
Creative Circle, from 2004 to 2005).
When not making ads or power-lifting weights,
Human is dedicated to maintaining the happiness
of his wife and his two daughters, usually with
a tummy tickle.
