Design Indaba 2020 celebrates a momentous milestone in the conference’s legacy, it’s 25th anniversary. The 2020 iteration of the conference will bring to the stage the creative optimism and activism people have come to expect from the flagship platform. 

Described as a creative pilgrimage, Design Indaba is a 3 day multi-sensory, thought provoking and expansive experience that includes a series of captivating design talks by day and festival by night, featuring live music, theatre, exhibitions and masterclasses – all designed to help you explore the realms of creativity.

The Design Indaba Conference 2020 will take place from Wednesday 26 February to Friday 28 February 2020 and will be held in the Opera House of the Artscape Theatre Centre in Cape Town.

Early Bird Bookings qualify for a 10% discount of the full conference ticket price (R9155)

Early Bird Tickets are available for purchase on a first come first serve basis and numbers are limited. Thereafter the standard ticket price will take effect.

ALUMNI FULL THREE-DAY CONFERENCE TICKET RATE: R7775

Conference Delegates who have attended two or more Design Indaba conferences qualify for Alumni discount.

Alumni Bookings qualify for a 15% discount of the full conference ticket price, paying R7775 for a full conference ticket.

If you are a past delegate/alumnus, you will be sent a unique code directly to your email address so you can take advantage of this special offer. If you do not receive your discount code please notify hello@designindaba.com

ACADEMIC FULL THREE-DAY CONFERENCE TICKET RATE: R7775

Academic discounts are offered to lecturers and students in academic institutions.

As an academic, you qualify for a 15% discount of the full conference ticket.

If you are an academic/lecturer and you would like to attend, please contact hello@designindaba.com with the details of your educational institution/copy of your student card in order to receive your unique booking code. When registering onsite at the conference a valid academic identification will need to be presented.

SIMULCAST THREE-DAY CONFERENCE TICKET RATE: R1250

Design Indaba

Catering to emerging designers, students, young professionals and those who cannot make it to the live conference – The simulcast offering features a broadcast of the full conference livestreamed to various venues locally and internationally, including Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban and more.

Simulcast Tickets Pricing:

Cape Town (Artscape Theatre) 3 Day simulcast ticket: R1 945

Cape Town Student Simulcast Discount: R1785*

Johannesburg, Durban and all other venues: 3 Day Simulcast ticket: R1250 (3 Day ticket)

Student Simulcast: R 1130 (3 Day ticket)*

*Student individual tickets is only applicable if the attendee is registered with a valid tertiary education institution. Proof of affiliation will be required upon event registration.

Since 1995, Design Indaba has contributed vastly to uplifting the South African design sector through education and projects - and will continue to do so. We’d like to invite delegates to make their own contribution to growing the design industry by way of a voluntary donation towards the not-for-profit Design Indaba Trust, which supports the attendance of students in need. This voluntary donation is entirely at your discretion and is an optional prompt that forms part of your online booking and payment – so there’s nothing extra you’ll need to do!
