Keeping faith

Faith47 writes about her inspirations.

I feel that people need to act with more thought

to redefine what they support

revise who they idolise

I do not look up to sugar coated lifestyles as shrines

and don't wish to live in Hollywood movie titles

our city is heated with violence

it burns from the inside

we are all the flesh of it

slowly turning the machine

some of my pictures are laced with anger

like wallets chained to pockets

hearts chained with saftey jackets

reflecting what I see

Growing up in South Africa, it is impossible not to be influenced by the social and political climate of the country. Seeing the effect on individuals and their strength in adversity is what inspires me. I am interested in promoting self empowerment. Of being "proudly South African". I try to somehow incorporate a feeling of individual strength in my work as I find that there are so many people in this country constantly persevering against all odds. South Africa is burning with raw talent, we all need to realise this.

I am currently working on a number of projects and am confident that through hard work, determination and focus, the world is open.
